Free People: What competition?

Free People competes with a couple of contemporary brands: Brandy Melville, Urban Outfitters (sister, sister company), and Madewell. Brandy Melville is a CA based company that acts as the "beach bum, blonde-hair, don't give a #$%! customer. Urban Outfitters, FP's sister company is predictable and goes off of what is considered to be "trendy" or "cool" at that certain moment in time. They don't think outside the box, nor dare to be different. Madewell, a more sophisticated line tries to have its fun and be playful but in reality, they're a company who loves stripes and a fitted cropped pant..... BORING!

Urban is typical with its embellished denim shirt.

Brandy Melville gives off too much of a beach vibe. These clothes aren't always practical.

Madewell tries just a little too hard...
